Golf Tournament

On Tuesday, May 13th, the Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort will again host the LJS convention best-ball shotgun start golf tournament. This year the tournament will take place on its Sun Mountain course. Shining at 7,112 total yards, is the tamest of the Paiute's courses but the holes are every bit as good. A kinder, gentler Dye design, it’s depicted by natural rolling terrain and enchanting scenery. Many golfers hail the Sun as their favorite because they feel like they are on the edge of nature due to the location of the course being completely away from the resort's interior. The 12th is brilliant even on a cloudy day because of the monstrous mountain backdrop, indigenous desert landscape, and sweeping slope changes, which will advise a player to think before swinging. If you are a golfer and are registered for the convention, plan to arrive in time to play on Tuesday morning!

Cocktail Reception and Charity Auction
This reception will
kick-off the convention with good food and drink and a live charity auction
featuring franchisee Bill Brewer as our auctioneer. Thanks to the LJS partner
suppliers who furnished most of the auction items, Long John Silver’s raised
over $10,000 in 2007 to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Suppliers
again will have the opportunity to donate an item for the auction during on-line
registration - our goal for 2008 is $15,000.

Gala Final Evening
The Gala Dinner will conclude the 2008 Long John Silver's convention with a bang. Following the cocktail reception with some special guests, attendees will partake in a delicious dinner, followed by entertainment by renowned entertainer, Mac King. Mac was recently presented the award for Best Comedy Magician at the 2007 World Magic Awards. The prize is presented each year to the funniest magician in the world. Mac's "home" is Harrah's, where he performs twice daily to sold-out crowds. A quote from Mac ... "I’m gratified that it’s consistently the highest rated magic show in town, but I’m even more proud of the fact that it appeals to people of all ages and walks of life. Adults appreciate the humor that is over their kid’s heads. I’ve gotten standing ovations from tattooed biker guys and prim grandmas. Even surly teenagers seem to like it."
We'll also have a live band for music and dancing. What a great finale to this year’s convention!
